Mother's Day is always the second Sunday in May. The best part about this arrangement is that most people shouldn't have any problems, within reason, to make their way over to see their mothers and celebrate her.
One great way to do this is by having a family brunch.
What is Brunch?
Brunch is a meal served between breakfast and lunch, but what it also is, is a means of distinguishing a special meal for someone with their favorite foods.
The beauty of a brunch is that people can have waffles, eggs, and bacon with juice, or they can have a cheeseburger, fries, and a soda. Lunch and breakfast foods are fair game.
Making the Brunch Menu Special
While it wouldn't be out of order to make baloney sandwiches, Mother's Day should stand out among other days, especially when it comes to good food. After all, don't mothers deserve to have a great meal served to them at least once a year?
For this reason, specialty omelets, scrumptious appetizers, and an array of desserts should be present. If mom has a restaurant she loves but refuses to treat herself to, then the menu can come from there. The point is that on Mother's Day, mom should be able to have what she wants.
How to Make a Mother's Day Brunch Even More Special
A wonderful mother wants those around her to be happy. It is not uncommon for her to sacrifice her own happiness to achieve this, and so, loved ones should let their mothers know that they are happy on Mother's Day, but not just happy in general. She wants to know if her children are happy to be with her; if they are happy with the food.
Get specific and she'll be glowing by the time she opens her presents.
Mother's Day Presents
That's right, presents. While most moms just want to be around their children and grandchildren, they don't mind being thought of in terms of lovely gifts either.
To serve this purpose, bring a bouquet of flowers. Even if it's modest, she'll be grateful. And then bring another gift from the children. After all that a mother does for her grandchildren, she's likely to be thrilled to have a gift come from them, even if it's obvious they didn't pick, purchase, or wrap it.
This Mother's Day can be phenomenal with a brunch serving mom's favorite foods plus an extra treat or two. And after all she does during the year, it's well deserved.
